Survey Results Show Local 410 Members Care About Wages, Staffing, Stress on the Job

Results from the bargaining survey that members took over the past several months are in and the results are clear.

Nearly everyone is underpaid, understaffed, and concerned about health and safety protections.

Chart showing 73% of members do not feel fairly paid. Chart showing off the most important issues for negotiations.

Chart highlighting top safety issues in the workplace.

Those concerns handily drove the top issues for the next contract. 90% of members said that wages and salaries were an important issue for the next contract – with Health Insurance (72%), Health & Safety, and Job Security (67%), rounding out the top 4 issues for the next contract.

72% of members surveyed said they DID NOT feel fairly paid for their work. Only 14% said the staffing in their area was sufficient.

Nearly everyone agreed: since politicians are our bosses, politics are important for public employees to pay attention to, and 2/3rds want the union to get more involved in local politics.

While contract negotiations are a long process, getting these survey results gives everyone a sense of what we are fighting for. They are a first step in the journey.
